Info: Bio

I haven't climbed Mount Everest or even run the Badwater. I haven’t seen the northern lights, even as hard as I try. I love traveling to far away places, meeting new people, and strive to create powerful still & moving imagery that stems from my soul as an artist. I have lived in New York City, Los Angeles, Colorado and Washington, D.C. But most importantly, I’ve made it my life’s goal to be as creative as possible and hopefully in doing so will convey the world through its subtle beauty. Without photography in my life, I would likely go insane.
Now the boring stuff…
Patrick McDermott is a photojournalist with a passion for capturing photographs that convey the world of sports through its subtle beauty. Raised in Washington, D.C., he went on to earn a B.A. from Colgate University with a double major in Marine-Freshwater Science and Fine Art & Art History. After spending a winter working in the mountains of Colorado, he decided to follow his heart into photojournalism. He has had the privilege to be an intern photographer at Getty Images and United Press International. He was a student at the Eddie Adams Workshop Barnstorm XXIII.
His work has been prominently featured in and distributed through Getty Images, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, and CNN, amongst others. He has photographed the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games and the 2011 AMGEN Tour of California. On the editorial side, he has covered the 2008 Presidential election and the Washington, D.C. political circuit, including the White House.
